Meet tracee

Hi! I’m Tracee. When not in my studio, you can find me with my family watching movies or getting my hands dirty in our garden. I love to travel and meet new people. I collect magnets from places visited and still have lots of room on my fridge for more! If you are having a destination wedding, would like location portraits, or if you are already a distance away, let’s talk!

 My Photography Story

I was a born artist. I have always been a photographer, my father was a photographer, I learned from him and was fortunate enough to have supportive parents, still to this day. (I love you mom and dad!)

I believe we are all photographers, it is our natural desire to document our memories and share our lives with others. The technology we now have as a civilization, camera phones and affordable, portable cameras everywhere let us all be photographers. I was into all this tech as a child and although I kept going with it my whole life, I was perhaps just a little more into photography than my peers.

Kodak or Fuji would have gifts sets for sale, with a camera like the “Disc” or “110”. The set would include a couple rolls of film, a case or wrist strap, just in time for Christmas, of course and these types of toys would be on my list to Santa. A camera was a toy to me. A toy. I did it for fun, for myself, my friends, family, I was always the one with the camera. Now, decades later, I'm getting paid to be the one with the camera. I no longer ask Santa but I still love getting new “toys” to use for my photography business. I still get to have fun (mostly) but at the end of the day I am so grateful to get to create and use my photography skills to support my family. It’s a dream come true, albeit a long time to get here.

My METHOD

Most of the portrait sessions involve a collaboration of some sort, ideas are tossed around and we go over outfits. Then, I go hunting for the right colors of fabric or props. I get out my paints and brushes, my glue gun, drill, sewing machine…I love the creative process of it all. It’s fun like when I was a kid.

Weddings are fun too. At least they are meant to be a festive, happy celebration. I do my best to make sure my wedding clients have a great day, knowing that they don’t have to worry about their photographer. They love to see their perfect day as it unfolded in a beautiful album for years and years to come.
